Terms of Use

These terms explain how Paaso works as a neighbourhood rental marketplace for users in India.

Last updated: 18 July 2026
Important

These terms explain how Paaso works as a peer-to-peer marketplace platform and how users should use listings, chat, payments, support and dispute tools.

1. Marketplace role

Paaso is a technology platform for nearby peer-to-peer item rentals and short-term parking space bookings. We are not the owner, renter, seller, buyer, insurer, escrow agent, parking operator, security provider, logistics provider or legal representative of users. Users decide whether to rent, what to charge, where to meet, how parking access is given, and how to settle rent, parking fee or deposit.

2. Eligibility and truthful information

You must be at least 18 years old, legally capable of entering contracts in India, and must provide accurate profile, phone, listing, location and payment information. Do not impersonate anyone or use another person's documents, photos, phone number or address without authority.

3. Listing rules

List only items or parking spaces you own or are authorised to rent. Listings must be accurate and must disclose defects, missing parts, usage limits, safety risks, required accessories, parking access rules, vehicle restrictions and timing limits. Do not list illegal, stolen, counterfeit, hazardous, regulated or restricted goods or spaces you are not allowed to offer.

4. Prohibited items and conduct

Weapons, explosives, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, medicines, medical devices, animals, adult content, government IDs, personal documents, financial instruments, counterfeit goods, stolen property and any item prohibited by Indian law or local rules are not allowed. Harassment, fraud, spam, threats, hate content and unsafe behaviour are prohibited.

5. Rent, deposit and platform fee

Owners and renters settle rent, parking fee, deposit and refunds directly unless the app shows an in-app charge. Paaso may charge a platform service fee after return, currently 7% of rent, min ₹15, max ₹79, where shown in the app. This fee is calculated on rent or parking fee only, not on item deposit. Item deposits are not held by Paaso; agree deductions and keep proof. Parking bookings do not use an item security deposit unless a future app flow clearly says otherwise.

6. Refund and cancellation

If a rental is cancelled, rejected, not picked up, returned late, damaged or disputed, users are responsible for agreeing any rent, parking fee, deposit refund, deduction or adjustment directly with each other unless a future in-app payment or escrow flow clearly says otherwise. Keep payment proof, chat proof and handover photos. Paaso platform fees, where charged, are for platform access and support tools and may be non-refundable after a successful rental unless required by law or clearly stated in the app.

7. Pickup, return and disputes

Users are responsible for safe handover, item inspection, pickup photos, return photos, parking access, vehicle safety, payment proof and written communication. Parking owners and renters should agree entry/exit timing, vehicle type, access instructions and society/building rules before use. Dispute tools help record evidence, but users may still need civil, consumer, police or legal remedies outside the app.

8. Damage, loss and deposit disputes

Before pickup and before return, both parties should capture clear photos of the item, accessories, existing damage, working condition and handover context. If photos are skipped, the parties accept higher dispute risk. Deposit deductions should be based on reasonable evidence such as photos, chat, payment proof, repair estimates or replacement cost. Paaso may review evidence for platform action, but does not guarantee recovery, compensation or a particular dispute outcome.

9. KYC and identity review

Paaso may request or review identity signals such as profile details, phone number, address area, business/shop information, government-document signals or third-party verification status where needed for trust, safety, fraud prevention or higher-risk rentals. Never share Aadhaar OTP, full Aadhaar number, bank OTP, card PIN or passwords in chat. KYC review does not guarantee that another user is safe, honest or legally authorised.

10. Content moderation and takedown

Paaso may hide, reject, remove or restrict listings, messages, accounts or content that appears unlawful, unsafe, fraudulent, misleading, infringing, abusive, prohibited or contrary to these terms. We may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

11. No guarantees

We do not guarantee user identity, item quality, availability, legality, safety, fitness for purpose, payment, refund, damage recovery or dispute outcome. Use judgment, inspect items and keep evidence.

12. Limitation of liability

Paaso is not liable for user-to-user loss, injury, theft, damage, non-payment, late return, deposit disagreement, tax liability, third-party conduct or offline settlement except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Governing law

These terms are intended for use in India and should be read with applicable Indian laws, including consumer, contract, information technology, data protection and local laws. Paaso may update these terms as the service, law or platform features change.
